Australia has many national parks, but one such park is the world-renowned Great Barrier Reef. With its diverse ecosystem, the Great Barrier Reef attracts many tourists every year.

Australia’s most popular national park, the Great Barrier Reef stretches across 2,300 miles in length and more than 500 miles in width. It is home to around 400 types of coral and 600 different species of fish.

The reef also houses one third of all marine life in Australia. With an average depth of three meters, it is a great spot for diving and snorkeling as well as a popular destination for recreational fishing and scuba diving.

The Reef Visitor Centre provides information on activities that can be done in the area as well as logistical details on how to get there.
